Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about GME TimeSnap.

GME TimeSnap is a Chrome extension that automatically tracks your work time and fills time entries into QuickBooks Online. It detects when you're working in QBO, tracks your time, and auto-fills your time entry forms with one click.
GME TimeSnap is currently available for Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, etc.) via the Chrome Web Store.
Yes, GME TimeSnap is designed to work with QuickBooks Online. The auto-fill feature requires access to QBO's time entry page. You can still use the timer without QBO, but auto-fill won't be available.
The Free tier includes automatic time tracking, auto-pause and resume on tab switch, configurable idle detection, QBO time entry auto-fill, customer/project/service history, and daily and weekly time summaries.
Pro adds session backup and recovery (so you never lose a session if the browser closes), browser close warnings, cloud sync across devices, work logs with export, multi-company support, and priority support.
The Free tier is fully functional for core time tracking. You can use it as long as you want and upgrade to Pro when you need the additional features. There is no trial period — the Free tier is free forever.
When auto-start is enabled, TimeSnap detects when you navigate to a QuickBooks Online page and automatically starts the timer. When you switch to a different tab, the timer pauses. When you return to QBO, it resumes. You can also start and stop the timer manually.
Idle detection will pause the timer if you're inactive for the configured period (2-10 minutes). Auto-pause also pauses the timer when you switch away from QBO. With Pro, session backup ensures your data is preserved even if the browser closes unexpectedly.
When you stop the timer, the time entry is auto-filled into QBO's form. You can review and edit all fields (duration, customer, project, service, description) in QBO before saving the entry.
TimeSnap only fills in form fields on the QBO time entry page. It does not submit forms or save entries automatically — you always have the final say. No data is written to QBO without your explicit action.
TimeSnap detects any page on *.intuit.com for auto-tracking purposes. The auto-fill feature specifically targets the QBO weekly timesheet and single time activity pages.
On the Free tier, all data (timer state, history, settings) is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. Nothing is sent to external servers. On Pro, session backups and sync data are stored in our secure Supabase backend, encrypted in transit.
No. TimeSnap only reads page context (like customer and project names visible on the page) to provide auto-suggestions. It does not access your financial data, reports, bank connections, or any sensitive QBO information.
TimeSnap requires: tabs (to detect QBO pages), storage (to save settings and history), activeTab (to interact with the current page), and scripting (to auto-fill forms). Host permissions are limited to *.intuit.com and our auth service.
Visit the Pricing page and click "Upgrade to Pro." You'll be taken to a secure Stripe checkout. Once payment is confirmed, your Pro features activate immediately in the extension.
Yes, you can cancel anytime. Your Pro features remain active until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Free tier. No data is lost — your history and settings are preserved.
We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
